Taalio is a Dutch vocabulary app that builds your confidence with each word through short practice sessions. Find answers below, or reach out directly.

What is Taalio?

Taalio helps you learn Dutch vocabulary through short, repeated practice: a quick translation check, followed by writing your own sentence with the word. Each word gets a confidence level — Red, Yellow, or Green — that tracks how well you know it and how often it comes back for review.

How do I add words?

Add a word manually (Taalio fetches the English translation for you automatically), or import one of the built-in starter packs to get going quickly.

How does the confidence score work?

Every time you practice a word, your answer affects its score: Red means it needs frequent review, Yellow means you're getting there, and Green means you've shown consistent recall. Words you don't review for a while gradually decay back down, so review stays honest.

What do hints do?

Hints are there to help you learn — using one doesn't hurt your score, but a hint-assisted answer counts for slightly less than recalling a word unaided, since the goal is real recall, not recognition.

Where is my data stored?

Everything you add — your words, sentences, and progress — is stored only on your device. Taalio doesn't have accounts and doesn't keep a copy on a server. Uninstalling the app removes your data permanently, so back up anything you'd want to keep before doing that.

How do I turn reminders on or off?

Go to the Settings tab inside the app and toggle reminders. You can also manage notification permissions from your device's system settings at any time.

I found a bug, or have feedback

We'd like to hear about it. Email us at hello@taalio.app with as much detail as you can — what happened, what you expected, and your device/iOS version if relevant.
